Yes, we have sun & we have wind here...some days, too much wind! But most people would be surprised to learn that South Dakota ranks 4th in the nation for Wind Power Potential and 14th in the nation for Solar Power Potential. We produce enough wind that our little state could power over 25% of the entire United States - if only we could harness it. And sun-power? Yeah, we're 14th but ironically enough, Solar PV Panels work best when they're not ultra-hot, so they work great in the winter too - take that, Florida!
